A few questions
before you choose.
How much does My Custom Bakes cost?
$10 a month or $110 a year, after a 30-day free trial that requires a card. It takes no cut of your sales, and card payments go through Square at Square's standard rate. See My Custom Bakes' pricing.
Is Ovenbell cheaper than My Custom Bakes?
No. Ovenbell costs $19 a month or $190 a year: $9 a month, or $80 a year, more. Neither takes a cut of your orders, and both use a payment processor’s standard rate: Square for My Custom Bakes, Stripe for Ovenbell. What the difference buys is in the table above: alerts when orders open, pickup windows with their own limits, customer-approved changes, an iPhone app and your own domain.
Can customers change a confirmed order?
In My Custom Bakes, approved quotes are locked, and its guide says that if a customer wants to add items, you create a new order. In Ovenbell, a larger cake or a different pickup time starts as a proposal; the confirmed order stays in place until your customer accepts. Read My Custom Bakes' guide.
Which card processor does each use?
My Custom Bakes uses Square as its primary payment processor. Ovenbell connects your own Stripe account, at Stripe's 2.9% + $0.30 per domestic card payment. Neither app adds anything per order. See My Custom Bakes' payment guide.
Is there an app?
My Custom Bakes runs in a web browser, and its team has explained that it decided against a native app; you can save it to your home screen. Ovenbell has an iPhone app, and your shop and dashboard also work in any browser. Read My Custom Bakes' note.
Can I use my own domain?
With My Custom Bakes, an existing domain can redirect to your site. With Ovenbell, you connect your own domain and your shop opens at that address. See My Custom Bakes' plan details.
What happens after Ovenbell’s free trial?
Your first 30 days are free. A card is required, and the monthly plan is $19 after the trial. Cancel before the trial ends and you won’t be charged. An annual plan is also available for $190, billed annually.
