Does the Simply Bread App have a monthly subscription?
Its published model is percentage-based, with no flat monthly alternative. This page compares that model with Ovenbell's $19 monthly plan. See Simply Bread's explanation.
Who pays the Simply Bread App’s platform fee?
You can cover it, pass it to customers, or split it. The calculator adds the platform fees paid by both sides. A lower total therefore doesn’t always mean the same saving on your own bill.
Does the 5% fee apply to manual orders or POS sales?
No. Simply Bread exempts both from its platform fee, so leave those sales out of the calculator. Payment processing may still apply. Read the fee guide.
Are payment processing fees included?
No. Simply Bread publishes a separate online processing rate of 2.5% + $0.30. Ovenbell also has separate processing charges, which can differ. The figures here compare platform costs only, excluding processing, taxes and tips. View Simply Bread's rates.
When does Ovenbell cost less in platform fees?
At $380 in monthly storefront sales, 5% equals $19. Above that, Ovenbell’s monthly platform charge is lower; below it, Simply Bread’s is lower. At $2,500, the difference is $106 a month. These are estimates from monthly sales; rounding on individual orders can vary.
Do I need a Simply Bread oven to use either app?
No. Simply Bread says its app works with any oven. Ovenbell also works independently of your kitchen equipment. This is a comparison of ordering software, not ovens.
Can Ovenbell handle sourdough drops and custom cake orders together?
Yes. Set up a drop with quantities and pickup windows, or take a custom request, send a quote and collect a deposit. Both feed into your bake plan. You can also create an order from an email conversation and record payments made outside Ovenbell.
What happens after Ovenbell’s free trial?
Your first 30 days are free. A card is required, and the monthly plan is $19 after the trial. Cancel before the trial ends and you won’t be charged. An annual plan is also available for $190, billed annually; this page compares the monthly plan.
