A larger cake or a different pickup time starts as a proposal. The confirmed order stays in place until your customer accepts, so you both know which version to follow.
A few questions
before you choose.
How much does CakeBoss cost?
CakeBoss Cloud is a yearly subscription: $149 for the first year, then $36 a year. Its FAQ says the annual fee isn't billed automatically, extra employee logins cost $25 each, and purchases come with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Online payments use an optional paid PayPal module. See CakeBoss's price.
Is Ovenbell cheaper than CakeBoss?
No. Ovenbell costs $190 a year or $19 a month, and CakeBoss costs less, especially after its first year. They also do different jobs: CakeBoss organizes the orders, quotes and invoices you enter, while Ovenbell gives your customers a shop to order from, with drops, pickup windows and custom requests, and card payments through your own Stripe account.
Can customers order online with CakeBoss?
CakeBoss's features page describes emailing customers a link to view their quote or invoice, and letting them pay through PayPal with the optional module. It doesn't describe an online shop where customers place orders themselves. In Ovenbell, customers order from your shop. See CakeBoss's features.
Does CakeBoss have an app?
CakeBoss runs in your web browser, on a smartphone, tablet, PC or Mac, and needs an internet connection. Its older desktop versions are no longer supported. Ovenbell has an iPhone app, and also works in any browser. See CakeBoss's requirements.
Can Ovenbell handle custom cake orders?
Yes. Customers send a custom request, you send a quote and collect a deposit, and the remaining balance stays with the order. If a customer wants a bigger cake or a different pickup time, they approve the change before the confirmed order is updated.
What happens after Ovenbell’s free trial?
Your first 30 days are free. A card is required, and the monthly plan is $19 after the trial. Cancel before the trial ends and you won’t be charged. An annual plan is also available for $190, billed annually.
